Lemo 00 Series Equivalent Coaxial Plug — FFA.00.250.CTAC30 Pattern

This connector is a direct equivalent to the Lemo FFA.00.250.CTAC30, part of the widely used 00 series originally developed around the NIM-CAMAC (CD/N 549) standard. It’s a straight plug with a push-pull self-latching mechanism, a single 50 Ω coaxial contact, and a cable collet designed to accept RG316 and other cables with an outer diameter of 2.80–3.10 mm. A rubber boot is included for added cable protection at the termination point.

The housing is brass with a chrome-plated shell and collet nut, and nickel-plated latch sleeve and mid pieces — matching the construction of the genuine Lemo CTAC-series connectors. The coaxial contact is solder-terminated with a PTFE insulator, rated at 4 A with a contact resistance of 6.1 mΩ max. Test voltage is rated at 2.1 kV rms (2,100 V AC / 3,000 V DC).

The 00 series push-pull locking system allows quick, tool-free connection and disconnection with a simple axial motion, and the compact form factor supports high-density panel layouts — a key reason these connectors became the standard for NIM crate instrumentation. Though originally designed for nuclear instrumentation and particle physics research, this connector pattern is now found across test and measurement, broadcast, medical, and aerospace applications wherever a reliable miniature 50 Ω coaxial interface is needed.
