SMA Adjustable Phase Trimmer – PTS-A3A8-18-15*F

The PTS-A3A8-18-15*F is a precision coaxial adjustable phase trimmer designed for
RF and microwave applications requiring fine phase adjustment. Operating from DC to
18 GHz with a 50Ω impedance, this phase trimmer provides a linear phase adjustment of
15° per GHz, giving a total adjustable phase range of up to 270° at 18 GHz.

Built with a passivated stainless steel body and beryllium copper contacts plated
with gold over nickel-phosphorus alloy, the PTS-A3A8-18-15*F offers reliable
performance with VSWR typically below 1.15 up to 6 GHz, 1.25 from 6 to 12 GHz, and
1.4 from 12 to 18 GHz. Insertion loss is 0.5 dB or less across the full frequency
range. The PTFE insulator ensures consistent electrical performance across the
operating temperature range of −65 °C to +165 °C.

Applications

SMA adjustable phase trimmers are commonly used in phased array antenna systems,
test and measurement setups, radar systems, signal balancing, and RF circuit
prototyping where precise phase alignment between signal paths is required.

Mechanical Compatibility

Conforms to MIL-STD-348B and is mechanically compatible with 2.92 mm and 3.5 mm
connector interfaces. Phase adjustment is made by loosening the two lock nuts,
rotating the body to the required phase setting, and re-tightening — an 11 mm
spanner is required.
