Product Description
Part number: MP-BM75BF50-0/2G — JyeBao, RoHS compliant.
A minimum-loss resistive matching pad for transitioning between a 75-ohm system and a 50-ohm system at the connector interface. One end is a 75Ω BNC plug (male pin) for mating to a 75Ω source or cable; the other is a 50Ω BNC jack (female socket) for a 50Ω load or instrument port. Operating range is DC to 2 GHz.
Typical applications
- Connecting 75Ω video, CATV or broadcast equipment to 50Ω spectrum analysers, signal generators or VNAs
- Terminating 75Ω cable runs into 50Ω measurement chains without introducing large reflections
- General lab interop between mixed 50/75Ω test gear
Key specifications
- Frequency range: DC to 2 GHz
- VSWR: 1.1 @ 0.5 GHz · 1.15 @ 1 GHz · 1.3 @ 2 GHz
- Insertion loss: approximately 5.7 dB, inherent to any resistive 50/75 matching pad. The datasheet also tabulates voltage-division ratios of 4 dB (50→75 direction) and 7.5 dB (75→50 direction); these are voltage ratios reflecting the different port impedances, not additional power loss.
- Power rating: 0.5 W continuous
- Operating temperature: −30°C to +70°C
- Dimensions: 53 mm overall length × Ø14.5 mm body
- Materials: Teflon insulator, brass body and coupling nut (tin-zinc-copper-alloy plating), phosphor bronze centre pin (gold over nickel-phosphorus plating), silicone gasket
Worth knowing before you buy
- The ~5.7 dB loss is physics, not a manufacturer limitation — it’s the minimum achievable with a resistive L-pad between 50 and 75Ω. If your application can’t tolerate it, you likely want an impedance-matching transformer instead (narrower bandwidth, lower loss).
- Check the gender: the 75Ω side is a plug (male), the 50Ω side is a jack (female). The reverse orientation (MP-BF75BM50) and other gender/impedance combinations in the JyeBao family can be sourced on request.
- BNC 75Ω and 50Ω connectors are mechanically intermateable — the pad will physically fit any BNC port, but the match only works if the 75Ω face connects to your 75Ω equipment and the 50Ω face to your 50Ω equipment.
