Product Description
PET-100 Plug Crimp Connector for RG62 / RG59 – Jye Bao CM3100-0062
The CM3100-0062 is a PET-100 series crimp plug for miniature high-voltage coaxial cable such as RG62 (93 Ω) and RG59 (75 Ω). This is the classic PET-100 / PET100 plug used on many Geiger–Müller tube holders, radiation detectors and photomultiplier (PMT) heads, making it ideal for repairing or building legacy nucleonics equipment where the original PET-100 interface is still required.
Key features
- Connector type: PET-100 style high-voltage coaxial plug (cable mount, crimp)
- Manufacturer: Jye Bao
- Manufacturer P/N: CM3100-0062
- Typical cable types: RG62 (93 Ω) and RG59 (75 Ω) miniature HV coax
- Construction: brass body and shell with plated finish for good conductivity and corrosion resistance
- Dielectric: PTFE (Teflon) insulators for stable performance and high dielectric strength
- Centre contact: precision brass contact pin with multi-layer plating (gold over nickel-phosphorous over copper)
- Environmental sealing: silicone gasket at the mating end
- Termination: crimp braid ferrule plus soldered centre pin for secure mechanical and electrical connection
- Overall length: approx. 37.1 mm
- Max body diameter: approx. 12.7 mm knurled grip
Typical applications
- Replacement PET-100 plug on school and university Geiger–Müller tube holders / GM probes
- Repair of PET-100 terminated detector heads and legacy radiation monitors
- High-voltage signal and bias connections to photomultiplier tubes and scintillation detectors
- Custom PET-100 interface cables and adapters (e.g. PET-100 plug to BNC)
Cable compatibility
This connector is designed for miniature high-voltage coax such as RG62 and is commonly used in practice with RG59 for Geiger counter and detector leads. It is suitable for solid or stranded inner conductors and standard outer jacket diameters for these cable families.
Assembly overview
We recommend the following general process when terminating the CM3100-0062 to RG62 / RG59:
- Slide the rear nut and crimp ferrule onto the cable before beginning any cuts.
- Strip the cable so that the braid extends slightly beyond the inner PTFE dielectric – this allows the braid to be fed through the connector body.
- Insert the prepared cable into the connector body, pull the braid through and fit the braid ring / metal clip, then trim the braid flush.
- Cut the dielectric and inner conductor to the recommended lengths and fit the PTFE spacer(s) as supplied.
- Solder the centre conductor to the contact pin and push the pin fully into the insulator.
- Slide the crimp ferrule over the braid and crimp using the specified hex die size.
- Fit the remaining PTFE spacer and tighten the shell and body together to complete the assembly.
For step-by-step photos, measurements and tips, please refer to our illustrated guide Fitting P.E.T. connectors (CM3100-062) to RG59 cable or contact us if you would prefer RFShop to supply fully assembled PET-100 cables.
Recommended tooling
- Crimp tool: HT-336F or equivalent with 0.320″ hex die for the braid ferrule
- Temperature-controlled soldering iron and fine electronic solder for the centre pin
- Standard cable prep tools (coax stripper, side cutters, scalpel) and heat-shrink tubing for strain relief / identification
