Product Description
Overview
The CH-MDJ-00-BH is a bulkhead-mount 10-32 Microdot jack (female socket) with a solder-cup cable termination. Manufactured in the UK by RFShop, it is the standard interface used throughout the accelerometer and piezoelectric-sensor industry — recognisable by its distinctive small #10-32 UNF threaded coupling and low-profile form factor.
The 10-32 Microdot interface is used by most major accelerometer and IEPE sensor manufacturers for cable-to-sensor and cable-to-instrument connections. It is chosen for its compactness, low mass (so it doesn’t load the sensor being measured) and robustness in the bench and field environments typical of vibration and dynamic-signal test work.
Specifications (from RFShop drawing CH-10-32MDJ-00-BH)

Applications
- Accelerometer and vibration-sensor cable terminations (IEPE and charge-mode)
- Piezoelectric transducer signal paths
- Dynamic strain, force and pressure sensor signal lines
- Panel-mount enclosures for modal analysis, shaker-test, and NVH instrumentation
- Replacement or upgrade of existing 10-32 Microdot bulkhead installations
Cable compatibility
The solder-cup termination accepts the centre conductor of small-diameter coaxial or low-noise sensor cable. 10-32 Microdot assemblies most commonly use RG174/U, low-noise treated coax, or proprietary accelerometer cable from the sensor manufacturer. Cable outer-jacket sealing at this connector relies on downstream strain relief or heat-shrink — the bulkhead O-ring seals against the panel, not the cable.
Mating and terminology
This connector is a jack (female socket). It mates with a 10-32 Microdot plug (male pin). The term “Microdot” is an industry-standard interface name, originally a trade name and now used generically for this 10-32 UNF-2A coaxial connector family used across sensor and instrumentation applications.
